UX research

Website for a cultural festival

Role: UX researcher

Focus: User Research, Benchmarking, Information Architecture, Wireframing

As part of a UX research course, I was tasked with designing a website for a cultural festival. I chose to focus on a coffee festival that brings together producers, vendors, and consumers from around the world.

context

research

We started the project by defining the target audience through User Personas based on qualitative interviews and online surveys. We conducted interviews with potential festival participants—including producers, vendors, and consumers—to identify pain points and digital needs.

We then conducted a heuristic evaluation and competitive analysis of similar festival websites (direct and indirect competitors), identifying best practices and usability gaps in areas like navigation, content hierarchy, payment flows, and accessibility.

Ideation

Using the insights gathered, our team ran a Crazy 8s ideation session to quickly explore different layout directions for the homepage and ticketing experience. This allowed us to collaboratively generate a wide range of ideas and identify common patterns to define our early wireframe structures.

The best ideas are born from great research

iterate as much as possible

prototype

Interactive prototypes were developed to validate design decisions and test user flows before development. These clickable models simulate real interactions, helping identify usability issues early and communicate design intent to stakeholders.
